Adding to this impressive number, it is worth noting that out of these 350 companies, 3 have reached unicorn status, that is, they are valued at over one billion dollars. Of these 3 unicorns, 2 (Anchorage Digital and Tekever) were founded and are led by DEI alumni.

Diogo Mónica leads Anchorage Digital, a global cryptocurrency platform that enables institutions to participate in digital assets. It is also home to Anchorage Digital Bank N.A., the only federally chartered crypto bank in the U.S. The company was founded in 2017.

Tekever was founded in 2001 and is still led today by Ricardo Mendes, one of the 3 original founders. The company is a supplier and European leader in autonomous artificial intelligence systems.
