Student Support
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering establishes two financial support regulations aimed at strengthening the academic, scientific, and educational path of its students throughout different stages of their training.
On the one hand, the Regulamento de Bolsas de Transição para Doutoramento do DEI/IST defines a temporary support mechanism aimed at PhD students, ensuring the continuity of their scientific work at critical moments, namely at the beginning of their academic journey or in the final stage of completing their thesis. This instrument seeks to guarantee stability, prevent interruptions in the research path, and contribute to the quality and success of DEI’s doctoral programs.
On the other hand, the Regulamento de Apoio aos Alunos para Participação em Eventos de Internacionalização do DEI establishes the rules for granting funding to students from all study cycles who wish to take part in technical-scientific initiatives outside the university context. This support promotes the development of extracurricular skills, encourages exposure to international environments, and contributes to the academic enrichment of students, while also enhancing the visibility and institutional prestige of DEI and Instituto Superior Técnico.
Together, these regulations reflect DEI’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and the comprehensive education of its students, supporting both scientific production and its projection in international academic contexts.
