Welcome new MEIC students!

First of all, welcome to all the new students of the Master's program in Computer Science and Engineering at IST!

This year, once again, we have filled all the available openings: 200 students at Alameda and 90 students at Taguspark.

At the request of the coordination of this excellent Master's program, we are sharing the following information:

MEIC-T Welcome Session

MEIC-T will hold its Welcome Session on Tuesday, September 3rd at 12:30 pm in auditorium A3, at Taguspark, with the following program:

- 12:30 pm Welcome from DEI

- 12:35 pm Welcome from MEIC

- 12:40 pm Presentation of NEIIST (IST Informatics Students' Group)

- 12:50 pm In-person/online session to clarify doubts about registrations, limits, specializations, extracurricular activities, ...

- 1:30 pm Snack/socializing

MEIC-A Welcome Session

MEIC-A will hold its Welcome Session on Monday, September 9th at 4:30 pm in the atrium of Informatics III, at Alameda, with the following program:

- 4:30 pm Welcome from DEI

- 4:35 pm Welcome from MEIC

- 4:40 pm Presentation of NEIIST (IST Informatics Students' Group)

- 5:00 pm Snack/socializing

Online Clarification Session

Taking advantage of the fact that the Curricular Units (UC) registrations take place from September 2 to 4, and that the MEIC-T welcome session is on the 3rd, we will have an hybrid session to clarify doubts about registrations, limits, specializations, extracurricular activities, etc.

We would also like to pass on some information, especially for those coming from other faculties, but which will certainly be useful to everyone.

Registration Limits

MEIC gives you the freedom to choose the UCs to attend, but this freedom comes at a planning cost, given that teaching resources are not infinite.

Thus, since 23/24, MEIC has a maximum number of enrollments per UC, to ensure that each UC has shifts with the correct capacity and the necessary teachers.
