Aiming to "facilitate the development of reliable artificial intelligence applications and the use of ethically collected data" in European Portuguese, the Accelerat.ai consortium, launched by Defined.ai, will develop a unique technology to optimize customer service in the public and private sectors. The project will be funded by the Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência and represents an investment of 34.5 million euros. 

Accelerat.ai counts with the contribution of NOS, Instituto Superior Técnico de Lisboa, Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa, INESC-ID, among others.

IST's participation, led by DEI's Professor Alberto Abad, will primarily focus on the research and development of the mutual conversion capacity from voice to text and from text to voice, a key component of conversational artificial intelligence.
