Biotopia – O Património Natural da Madeira is an interactive exhibition on display until the end of the year at the Museu de História Natural do Funchal.

The project, developed by two DEI professors (Nuno Nunes and Valentina Nisi), offers an immersive way to explore Madeira’s natural heritage through technology, while simultaneously raising awareness of ecological responsibility. To this end, visitors can interact with endemic species using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and haptic technology.

It is also possible, on site, to play the board game Rock, Paper, Pigeon, which provides an even deeper engagement with Madeira’s natural and cultural heritage.

Biotopia is part of the european project LoGaCulture, which develops games and experiences that promote the cultural heritage of a given location.
