Prémio ULisboa redeSAÚDE for DEI Student!

Mafalda Serafim, a student in the Master's program in Computer Science and Engineering, won the Prémio ULisboa redeSAÚDE 2023 in the category of Health Systems / Entrepreneurship / Digital Transition. 

The winning project, the master's thesis titled "Acquisition of bio-markers from speech for the identification of Bipolar Disorder in European Portuguese," was developed under the guidance of Professor Sofia Pinto and Professor Alberto Abad, both faculty members of DEI, in collaboration with the Unidade de Saúde Mental de Oeiras, leadered by Professor Joaquim Gago, that belongs to Centro Hospitalar de Lisboa Ocidental (CHLO) and the support of the psychiatrist Daniel Sousa.

The Prémio ULisboa redeSAÚDE 2023 aims to recognize the best Master's and PhD works carried out by students at the University of Lisbon related to health topics. It was awarded as part of the 7ª Conferência Anual da RedeSAÚDE, an event designed to stimulate discussion and acknowledge research produced by the academic community at ULisboa on topics related to quality of life, and the promotion of value in health and well-being. The event took place on November 14, 2023, in the Salão Nobre da Reitoria da Universidade de Lisboa.
