The FuriosaAI Merit Award brought together three students from Técnico’s Master’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering to present their projects, developed as part of the Compilers course.

Pedro Antunes received the first prize for developing new capabilities for artificial intelligence applications, including support for multidimensional data structures.

The award jury consisted of DEI professors Nuno Lopes and David Matos, coordinators of the Compilers course, as well as Pedro Lobo, a DEI alumnus and software engineer at FuriosaAI.

The €2,500 award also included a donation to DEI to help improve teaching conditions.

The initiative aims to bring the academic community and the business sector closer together, promoting the development of skills and projects aligned with current industry challenges.
