On the 8th of  May, in the Sala de Reuniões of the Pavilhão Central on the Alameda campus, the FIDWARD by Fidelidade academic merit awards were presented to the top student in the Master’s in Computer Science and Engineering (MEIC) program and the top student in the Deep Learning course unit.

Nuno Policarpo, a DEI alumnus, was awarded as the best student in the MEIC program. The jury for the award included DEI professors Pedro Monteiro and Alberto Abad, as well as Dr. Rosa Mimoso, Head of Business Delivery at Fidelidade and alumna of Técnico.

The award for the best student in the Deep Learning course unit was given to Pedro Ferreira, a student in the Master’s in Data Science and Engineering program, in which DEI plays a significant role. The jury for this award consisted of André Martins and Mário Figueiredo, the course coordinators, and José Vieira, Data Science Manager at Fidelidade.

On the same occasion, a donation was also made to DEI to support the improvement of teaching and learning conditions.
