Apple honors DEI student

Tomás Lopes, a DEI student, achieved the title of Distinguished Winner in the Swift Student Challenge.
The Swift Student Challenge is an international competition promoted by Apple that challenges students to create innovative iOS applications. Among thousands of participants, only 350 winners were selected, of which 50 received the highest distinction.
The developed application, Signal, interactively demonstrates how federated learning works, ensuring complete privacy by operating without servers or network requests.
As a prize, Tomás was invited to visit Apple’s headquarters (all expenses included) during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), one of the most important technology events in the world.
