Wednesdays@DEI: Talks, 30-04-2025

In the next Wednesdays@DEI, we will have another session on an internal topic of general interest.

Title: MEIC 24/25 Analysis

Abstract: The MEIC-A+T is the largest Master's program at IST, featuring several unique characteristics.

The MEIC curriculum offers significant flexibility, with most courses being held across different campuses. This results in a wide range of enrollment numbers (from 30 to over 200 students in DEI-offered courses). These characteristics are partly a result of the curricular flexibility that our students value, allowing them to pursue individual interests, but they also come at a high cost in terms of physical and human resource management for the DEI.

We will present a historical overview of MEIC course enrollments, segmented by student origin, and an analysis of how enrollment limits affect student interests.

We will also share some statistics on MEIC 25/26 first-phase applications compared to the previous year, as well as updates on the MEICapp.

We will conclude with the current status of the A3ES process for MEIC2025 (which will not yet be implemented in 25/26).

Speakers: Professor Pedro Monteiro and Professor Alberto Abad
