In the next Wednesdays@DEI, we will have another session on internal topics and general interest.

Title: MEIC - 2024 Candidates and Internal Analysis

Abstract: MEIC is one of the largest master's programs at IST. This fact is evident in recent years, both in the number of students applying and in the number of dissertations defended each year.

In this presentation, we will discuss the historical evolution and characteristics of MEIC candidates, with a particular focus on the 2024 candidates (already under the DL65/2018 - without access to the continuity master's) and according to the new selection criteria as of Feb 2024.

We will also present an analysis of the number of defended dissertations, segmented into various dimensions, such as dissertation grade, course average, scientific area of supervisors, among others.

Finally, we will conduct a preliminary analysis of the first year in which MEIC courses offered by DEI are subject to a maximum enrollment limit, and we will release some important information.
