Fábio Gomes won the 5th edition of the AP2SI Merit Award with his dissertation “Cryptojacking Detection with CPU Usage Metrics”. He did his dissertation in the context of Instituto Superior Técnico’s Master in Computer Science and Engineering, advised Prof. Miguel Correia. Cryptojacking is malicious software that mines cryptocurrencies on the computers of its victims, for the benefit of the hacker that provides it.
