SWERC brought excitement to the weekend at DEI
On the weekend of the 30th of November, the Southwestern Europe Regional Contest (SWERC) took place at DEI's facilities.
This programming competition is for teams of three students, focusing on solving algorithmic and coding problems. As the name suggests, it hosts teams from Southwestern European countries, as well as Switzerland and Israel.
This was the first edition to take place simultaneously in more than one location, with 141 teams from 65 universities participating. At DEI, teams from Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, and Israel were present.
SWERC qualifies the top 3 teams from each event for the 2025 International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals, which has been the leading programming competition organized by and for universities worldwide for over 50 years.
The winners of this edition, as well as the presented problems, can be found HERE.
Beyond the competition, good humor and fun were the main highlights of the event.
