ShopWise, a team with three LEIC students, Clara Rodrigues, Eva Martins e Tiago Branquinho, and two LEFT students, Inês Marques e o Diogo Falcão, was one of the winning teams of the 9th edition of TecStorm, the largest university hackathon in Portugal.

ShopWise won in the “Healthy and Green Living in a Digital World” category, sponsored by Sonae, with an app that allows the creation of a personalized profile, based on a register of dietary restrictions. When a product is added to the shopping cart it automatically verifies compliance with these restrictions. Products are verified with RFID and AI sensors, and the app alerts the user to any dietary incompatibilities. 

ShopWise also won the Best Pitch award from Microsoft.

The event is organized by JUNITEC – Júnior Empresa do Instituto Superior Técnico, and took place between the 28th and 30th of March at Técnico Innovation Center.
