The Master’s in Computer Science and Engineering (MEIC) continues to be the Master’s program with the highest number of completed dissertations. In the previous academic year (2023/2024), MEIC students completed a total of 209 dissertations.

The dissertation topics are highly diverse and put into practice the knowledge from the five scientific areas of DEI (Department of Informatics Engineering):

• Architecture and Operating Systems;
• Artificial Intelligence;
• Graphics and Interaction;
• Programming Methodology and Technology;
• Information Systems.

This impressive number also reflects the contributions of all other participants in the dissertation evaluation process. DEI faculty members took part as Committee Presidents, Supervisors, and Committee Members. Specifically, they served as: Committee Presidents in 209 dissertation processes; Supervisors or Co-supervisors in 240 cases; Committee Members in 322 processes. These numbers refer exclusively to MEIC dissertations.

These are impressive figures that make DEI extremely proud of the quantity and quality of work produced by both students and faculty members of the Department.
