Daniel Gonçalves, professor at DEI, was the winner of the first Prémio Professor José Tribolet para a Inovação Digital no Ensino.

The award distinguished the innovation of gamification in the classroom. This practice turns learning into a game, thus facilitating the absorption of knowledge and improving student performance.

The award was presented on the 23rd of May, during the celebration ceremony of Técnico’s 114th anniversary, which took place at the Técnico Innovation Center. The event was attended by Técnico President Rogério Colaço; Professor Miguel Teixeira, President of the Pedagogical Council of Instituto Superior Técnico; Professor José Tribolet, founder of DEI and the individual honored by the award and Engineer Rui Pedro Vaz, representative of Deloitte (the award’s sponsor).

The event also included a donation to DEI aimed at improving the quality of education.
