Applications and nominations are now open until the 25th of September for the 9th edition of the Maria de Lourdes Pintasilgo Award.

Promoted by Instituto Superior Técnico since 2016, the award annually recognizes two distinct categories of the school’s alumnae:

• A former student who completed her studies at Técnico more than 15 years ago (as of the 31st of December of the year prior to the award), and who has stood out for her professional and/or social contributions;
• A recent graduate of Técnico, under the age of 27 (as of the 31st of December of the year prior to the award), who has stood out for the scientific quality of her Master’s thesis and for her academic record at Técnico.

This initiative honors exemplary academic and professional paths, while paying tribute to the engineer and former Prime Minister for whom the award is named.
