Title: MEIC: Past, Present and Future

Abstract: The MEIC is one of the largest master's programs at IST, offering unique challenges and opportunities. In this presentation, we will discuss a historical perspective on enrollment trends (students and interests in specific courses) over the years. We will cover the impact of the implementation of DL 65/2018, which marked the end of the "continuity master's" and made applying for a master's mandatory, thus opening up mobility between different programs.  

I will present the current application process for master's programs and for individual course units, highlighting recent changes and trends in the number of applicants, admitted students, pre-enrollments, and actual enrollments.  

I will also discuss the current accreditation process with A3ES, the choices made, and the impact on the MEIC, as well as potential future directions for the program.
