The award ceremony took place at the Taguspark Campus, with the presence of Professor Joana Mendonça, Vice-President for Taguspark Campus Management, Engineer Duarte Teixeira, Hitachi Portugal's representative and Técnico alumni, Professor Sofia Pinto, responsible for Communication and External Relations at DEI, Professor Pedro Monteiro, coordinator of the Master's in Computer Science and Engineering, Professor Diogo Ferreira, responsible for the Curricular Unit, and Professor Pedro Amaral responsible for Business Connections and Operations at IST.

The various speeches emphasized the importance of the relationship between Técnico and the Portuguese companies, in this case Hitachi and DEI, with benefits for both. In this case, it allowed students to use the Pentaho business software in the curricular unit, which was an incentive for the extra dedication from the students.

During the event, DEI also received a 1070€ donation from Hitachi for initiatives aiming to improve teaching quality.
