The newly established China-Portugal Joint Laboratory on Artificial Intelligence and Public Health Technologies, a collaboration between Instituto Superior Técnico, the Instituto de Engenharia de Sistemas e Computadores – Investigação e Desenvolvimento (INESC-ID), Guangzhou Laboratory, Guangzhou Medical University, and Macau University of Science and Technology, aims to develop Artificial Intelligence based technological solutions for public health management.  

The project’s launch ceremony took place on the 5th of March at the  Pavilhão de Informática II and featured the participation of several DEI professors: Ana Teresa Freitas attended as the President of the Department and Strategic Coordinator of the INESC-ID thematic line “Life and Health Technology”; Arlindo Oliveira spoke as the partnership coordinator and Miguel Pupo Correia was present as the President of the INESC-ID Executive Committee.
