Gender equality in science to be discussed on the 26th of June

Next Wednesday, the 26th of June, CMU Portugal, in collaboration with the Gender Balance group of Instituto Superior Técnico and INESC-ID, is organizing a session dedicated to discussing gender equality in the fields of science, engineering, technology, and mathematics.
The event will take place at 11:00 AM in the Salão Nobre of the Alameda Campus and will feature an initial lecture by guest speaker Jeria Quesenberry from Carnegie Mellon University on the topic "Breaking Barriers in Technology: Women in Computing at Carnegie Mellon and Global Perspectives."
Following the initial lecture, there will be a roundtable discussion with the participation of Ana Paiva, Secretary of State for Science; Anália Cardoso Torres, Professor at ISCSP; Inês Lynce, Director of the CMU Portugal Program and President of INESC-ID; João Peixoto, Vice-Rector of the University of Lisbon; Leonor Barreiros, student at Instituto Superior Técnico and Luís Lemos Alves, Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico. The discussion will be moderated by Sara Sá, a science communicator, under the title "Gender imbalance in STEM: The Portuguese academia experience."
