Fundão cherry benefits from "Made in DEI" Blockchain Technology

Soon it will be possible to track the journey of Fundão cherries from the field to the final consumer, thanks to the use of Blockchain technology for secure and transparent information storage. This achievement is the result of research and technological development integrated into a PRR project coordinated by DEI Professor Miguel Pardal.

Starting with the Fundão cherry, but not intending to stop there, the project "Descentralizar Portugal com Blockchain" aims to create a national partnership around this technology, extending to other vertical areas, beyond the agro-food supply chain. This innovation will allow the growth of global business opportunities and help Portugal become a more decentralized, equitable, sustainable and safe country.

TVI recorded the project's presence at the Festa da Cereja and the report is available HERE.
