Título: Intrusion Recovery: reverting malicious operations from distributed systems
Abstract: Intrusion Recovery aims to revert the effects of attacks from the state of applications, while ensuring the preservation of legitimate user data. Over the years many different approaches have been proposed: from e-mail servers, to web applications and more recently to blockchain assets. There are several challenges to address when recovering from intrusions: maintaining data consistency throughout the recovery process, upholding uninterrupted availability of services, tracking the propagation of the attack, and ensuring that the recovery operation itself does not adversely affect the target application.  In this talk I will present an overview of some intrusion recovery techniques that I've been working with in different types of systems, from web applications to microservices.
