The Dawn of AI-powered Software Development
Abstract: Can machines learn to program and design their own software? Can they give developers and designers more time to focus on value and more creative tasks?Software is the ultimate tool but with great power comes a lot of yak shaving. Why is software still so hard to write, test, and design? Tools have improved but the complexity of users’ and business needs have been increasing. We need to catch up!In this talk I will talk about how we see the (r)evolution of software development aided by AI, making it accessible to more people. I'll go over some of the underlying techniques, trends and challenges in this emerging area of research. Learn about how combining Graph Neural Networks, Automated Reasoning and other areas of AI are making this possible and and how this is represents one of the proposed paths towards Artificial General Intelligence.
Bio: Antonio Alegria founded & grew the OutSystems.AI area to a leading Research & Development group, with applied research and associated product teams that are bringing the power of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to Software Development.Previously he spent 6 years at Feedzai, starting as the founding member in the Research team where he drove the early creation of the Fraud Detection and Machine Learning technology that underpins their flagship products. Throughout that time he worked at the intersection of Product, Engineering and Science to bring new products and innovations to market.He comes from an extensive Engineering, Data Science and Product background, having spent the past 15 years designing and building and bringing to market disruptive data products in different domains at Portugal Telecom, Sapo, Feedzai and OutSystems.
