Ana Paiva, a professor at DEI, has been elected Sócia Correspondente of the 8th Section, Information Science and Technology, of the Academia das Ciências de Lisboa.

Her election as Sócia Correspondente was formalized during the Academy Day ceremony, held on the 2nd of July.

Founded in 1779, the Academia das Ciências de Lisboa plays a central role in Portugal's scientific, technological, and cultural development. Its mission is to promote scientific research, foster the creation and dissemination of knowledge, and contribute to the advancement of scientific culture, education, and learning in the fields of science and the humanities.
